What this site is

Time-Honored TCM is an independent, neutral history and culture guide to a handful of old Chinese pharmaceutical houses whose formulas have long been protected as trade secrets rather than published recipes — Guangyuyuan (广誉远) foremost, alongside Pien Tze Huang (片仔癀) and Tong Ren Tang (同仁堂). It focuses on history and overseas presence; current mainland-China commercial status is deliberately out of scope for now.

What this site is not

This site is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or an official channel of Guangyuyuan, Pien Tze Huang, Tong Ren Tang, or any other brand it discusses. It is not an e-commerce site, sells nothing, links to no storefront or affiliate program, and takes no position on whether any specific third-party listing is genuine or counterfeit. A historical export record, a heritage designation, or a brand's own claim of overseas presence is never presented as proof of current sales.

How content is sourced

Every historical fact on this site — years, figures, store counts — is drawn from documented sources: company histories, heritage registries, and public archives. Nothing here is written from general impression or invention.
